House Speaker Pro Tem Arlen Siegfreid (R-Olathe) has released his appointments to the select committee that will investigate the complaint against House Speaker Mike O'Neal (R-Hutchinson) filed last week by House Minority Leader Paul Davis (D-Lawrence).

"This group was carefully selected because of their experience and ability to be fair arbiters of the issue, but most importantly, because these members are well respected on both sides of the isle," Siegfreid said.

According to state law, any complaint filed against the Speaker results in a six-member committee being formed to investigate the claim. The committee will consist of three Republicans and three Democrats.

The appointees are Chairman Clark Shultz (R-Lindsborg); Vice Chairman Carl Holmes (R-Liberal); Rep. Nile Dillmore (D-Wichita); Rep. Bob Grant (D-Cherokee); Rep. Jerry Henry (D-Cummings); and Rep. Jeff King (R-Independence).

The committee held its first meeting Monday.

Rep. Siegfreid represents the 15th District which includes parts of the city of Olathe and Olathe Township in Johnson County. He serves on the Tax and Education Budget committees.
