Natalie Anna Thowe, age 8, of Parkville, Missouri, was removed from life support on Saturday, April 3, 2010 after suffering a massive brain hemorrhage on Thursday, April 1, 2010. Visitation will be held from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 8, 2010, at King of Kings Lutheran Church, Kansas City, MO, followed by funeral services at the church and burial at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Gladstone, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Children's Mercy Hospital Brain Trauma Unit or The Pet Connection, a no-kill animal shelter in Mission, KS.

Natalie was born May 3, 2001 in Augusta, Georgia, the daughter of Jennifer and Neil Thowe. She was a third grade student at Union Chapel Elementary School and attended kindergarten at St. James Catholic School. Natalie was beautiful, sensitive and wise beyond her years, a loving daughter and big sister. She was a blessing to her large extended family and to all who knew and loved her. She had a deep faith in her Savior and His promise of eternal life. She was an avid animal lover and wanted to be a veterinarian one day. She participated in competitive dance and was currently playing soccer, which had become her passion. She wore #8 on the Orange Crush soccer team, the same number her mom wore when she played for another Orange Crush team as a child. Natalie also took gymnastics classes and hoped to be a cheerleader in high school like her mom. She enjoyed reading, fishing, riding bikes and playing with everyone, especially her dad, sister, brother and cousins.

In keeping with her giving and caring personality, Natalie became an organ donor. Great peace and comfort come from knowing that a part of Natalie lives on in the children that received her heart, lungs and liver on Easter Sunday. Others will receive her kidneys, pancreas and corneas in the days to come.

Natalie was preceded in death by her beloved "Grammy" Maxine Haller, who died exactly one year ago, and her other great-grandparents, Dewayne and Mildred Black, Kathryn Thowe, and Gerald Haller. She was named after her great, great-grandmother "Grandma Great" Anna Thowe who lived to see her parents' wedding day. She leaves her parents, Neil and Jennifer Thowe, her sister Ella and her brother Owen of the home and grandparents, Robin Dellaguardia, Merle and Debbie Thowe, and Jim and Pam Bargfrede. She also leaves great-grandparents Leland Thowe, and Walter and Elaine Bargfrede. Additional survivors are her loving uncles and aunts, Matt and Stephani Bowne, Chelsea Thowe, Emily Thowe, Abel and Dyan Mojica, and Ryan and Liz Bargfrede along with her dear cousins William Bowne, Nathan, Henry and Conrad Mojica, and Taylor and Jacob Bargfrede and a great number of family and friends.

Natalie touched the lives of many and she is greatly missed. Her family wishes to thank the nursing staff at her school, the paramedics and the many doctors and nurses at Children's Mercy Hospital whose heroic efforts to save her life gave them the peace of knowing that all possible measures were taken to give her a chance to survive.
