Members of the Alma City Council met last Tuesday evening with a lighter-then-normal duty agenda. Mayor Maurice Baker presided over the meeting and made next year's reorganization recommendations to the council for the coming year.

Following are the recommendations made by Baker: Alma City Clerk - Sharon White, Deputy City Clerk - Sherry Smith, City Utility Billing Clerk/City Treasurer - Diana Baker, City Marshal - Mark Falk, City Attorney - Tom Barnes, City Municipal Judge - Blaine Carter, City Court Clerk - Sharon White, Environmental Review Officer - Sharon White, City Sexton - Diana Baker, Public Officer - Mark Falk, Zoning Administrator - Jon Bolinder, City Official Newspaper - Wabaunsee County Signal-Enterprise, Governing Body President - Pam Bales, Alma City Representative to Wabaunsee County Planning Commission - Don Hendricks and Official Depository - Stockgrowers State Bank.

The council unanimously approved all of Baker's recommendations. In other business, Marshal Falk reported that additional signage would be necessary to close Missouri Avenue for the American Cancer Society fund-raiser car show scheduled for Saturday, August 21. City Superintendent Jon Bolinder told them that he would work with Falk to obtain the necessary signage.

Bolinder also reported to the council that the wastewater project is going well.

"At this point we haven't had any hiccups that have caused any problems," Bolinder said.

Council Member Gary Lesline told the council he had a conflict with a mandatory training for AMR personnel. Lesline said he would like to attend the next council meeting, and asked if the date could be changed to allow for his attendance. The next Alma City Council meeting will be held on Thursday, May 20 as opposed to Tuesday, May 18.
