Gary C. Friesen

Gary Friesen, 73, died in his sleep days after major surgery January 7, 2010. He was the devoted husband of Carol Friesen and devoted father of David, Gregory and Glenda Friesen and Danielle LaHood. His grandchildren, Ross and Lauren Frank, Joshua Friesen, Chelsea Friesen, Aaron Friesen and Tyler Friesen.

Gary was born January 24,1937.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Lydia Friesen of McFarland, KS.

Other survivors, his sister Charlene Schubert, brothers Glen Friesen and Dan Friesen, nieces and nephews morn his passing.

Gary graduated high school in Alma, KS in 1955, prior to joining the US Air Force. He met Carol Tibbetts of Pleasant Hills, CA, and they were married in Sacramento, CA in 1959.

He worked for International Harvester, earned his Bachelors Degree in 1980, and purchased Midlands International Truck dealership in Omaha, NE in 1983. He later worked for Jim Hawk Trailer in Council Bluffs, IA, and then managed Omaha Truck Center. He was currently employed as General Manager of Dion International Trucks in San Marcos, CA.

He loved his work, his cars, his books, birds, fishing, golf and most of all... his family. He traced his family history, and was the proud President of his Air Force 623rd AC&W Association.

He met and loved many people. He was a busy man, a loved man, and... "We will see him again!"

Friesen family and friends are gathering at the Senior Center in McFarland, KS. Sunday, May 30, 2010, at noon.
