Louis A. Walker

Louis A. Walker, 79, passed away Wednesday, June 2,2010, at his home in Auburn.

He was born on February 10, 1931, at home in Harveyville the son of Schyuler S. and Blanche Ball Walker. He graduated from Harvey ville High School in 1948. He served in the US Army.

Louis was a farmer and rancher in the Harveyville area all his life. He was very active with his family and friends and never really retired. One of his passions was K-State Women's basketball, which he supported at many of the games.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his parents, one brother, three sisters and a grandson.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Donna and Robert Warren, Eskridge, Diana and Randy Hizar, Emporia, Mark and Linda Walker, Osage City, James and Kim Walker, Harveyville and John and Anita Walker, Harveyville; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 5, 2010, at the Eskridge Cemetery. The family received friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Friday, June 4, 2010, at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Eskridge.

Memorial contributions can be made to the K-State Equestrian Barn and sent in care of the funeral chapel at P O Box 338, Eskridge, KS 66423.
