Obituary

David Keifer Thompson

David Keifer Thompson, 57, of Alma, Kansas, died Thursday, August 26, 2010, in Fort Worth, Texas, while on a business trip. He had been a resident of the community for the past five years.

David was born August 16, 1953, in Phoenix, Arizona, the son of Jesse James Thompson and Paullette Hasler Beaulac. He attended local schools and in 1971 graduated from Linn High School in Linn, Kansas. David worked for thirty-three years for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company. He enjoyed many of those years as a lineman, and at the time of his death, he was a Telecom Maintenance Manager. He was a member of the Teamsters IBEW Local.

He married Carrie "Baby" Holcomb on December 12, 1990, in Kansas City, Kansas. She survives at their home.

David is also survived by his mother, Paullette Beaulac, Greenleaf; three sons, Kenneth Marshell Holcomb, Ft. Worth, Texas, Kevin Matthew Thompson (currently stationed at Osan AB, in South Korea) and his wife, Tabatha, West Des Moines, Iowa, Kelly Michael Thompson and his wife, Heather, Hutchinson; three grandchildren, Karter Holcomb, Zayden Thompson and Karsen Thompson; two sisters, Barbara Brown and her husband, Chuck, Grant, Nebraska, and Lauree Burwell, Topeka; two brothers, Carl Bennett and his wife, Tina Weber, Clay Center and Paul Bennett, Salina. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who love him dearly, all of which he cherished.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 4, 2010, at the family home. For details you may contact Campanella-Gentry funeral home at 785-765-3913.
