ALMA LEGION, AUXILIARY SALS RECOGNIZE ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Members of the Alma American Legion, Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion held receptions at their September and October meetings. In September a reception was held to honor the late Virgil Hatfield for his many years of service as the Commander of Post #32. Hi's wife Elsie and other family members were present for the ceremony. Following the presentation of the certificate of appreciation to Elsie, Jill Wenderott, delegate to the 2009 Girl's State, was present to report on her experience. In October another reception was held to honor Legion and Auxiliary members for their years of continuous membership and the delegate to Boy's State was present. Ryne Cook, Eskridge, was the Legion's delegate to Boy's State and he spoke about his experience. In the Legion Vernon Zeckser and Charles Herman were recognized for 65 and 60 years of membership, respectively. Roberta Berroth and Helen Umbehr were Auxiliary members recognized for 65 and 60 years of membership respectively.
