Thelma Marie Larson

Thelma Marie Larson, age 97 of Park River, ND passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River. Thelma Marie Howe was born May 7, 1912 in Fordville, ND, the second of eleven children, to the late Seveirt and Louise (Kvick) Howe. Thelma attended and graduated from Park River High School. She married Alton Oliver Larson in 1933 at Crookston, MN. The couple moved to the family farm that Alton's grandfather had homesteaded in 1883. Alton and Thelma continued to farm there until their retirement. Alton passed away December 19, 1991. Thelma continued living on the farm until 1992 when she moved into Park River. Thelma moved to the Good Samaritan Center in 2003.

Thelma was a member of the Park Center Lutheran Church and W.E.L.C.A.

Thelma is survived by her brothers: Art (Mamie) Howe, McVille, ND; Hilmer (Irene) Howe, Marysville, Ml; sisters: Hilda Kotaska, Maddock, ND; Viola Anderson, Bismarck, ND, Othelia Skow, Bismarck, ND; Lila (Lee) Wood, Bismarck, ND; brother-in-law: DuWayne Lein, Fargo, ND; sisters-in-law: Jewel Oakes, Minneapolis, MN; Avis Howe, Jupiter, FL; Thea Howe, Minneapolis, MN; several nieces and nephews also survive and special neighbors: Linda Meberg and Jay Cudmore. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alton, brothers: Olaf, Sig (Nadine), John; sister Esther Lein and sister-in-law Minnie Hanson.

Memorial services were Saturday, August 29, 2009, at the Park Center Lutheran Church, rural Hoople. Interment was at the Park Center Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hoople, ND.
