Alvina L. Nygard

Alvina L. Nygard, age 88 of Edinburg, ND passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center of Osnabrock, ND.

Alvina L. Sholey was born April 1, 1922 in Fairdale, ND the daughter of the late Tallak and Hilma (Lofgren) Sholey. She graduated from High School in Fairdale, ND. Following her education she was united in marriage to Joseph Nygard on March 23, 1943 in Grafton. The couple lived and farmed in Tiber Township. He passed away on June 13, 1999 and she moved into the Good Samaritan Center in April of 2006.

Alvina was a charter member of the Grace Free Lutheran Church of Edinburg, the Grace Free WMF and a member of the Edinburg American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Glenn) Ohma, Edinburg, ND; son Lon (Melinda) Nygard, Edinburg, ND; grandchildren: Shelli (Tim) Langerud; Bismarck, ND; JoAnn

Ohma, Fargo, ND; Jared Ohma, Edinburg, ND; two great grandsons: Jacob and Garrett Langerud, Bismarck, ND; her brother Earl (Mildred) Sholey, Roseville, MN; sister Carol Levin, Bismarck, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services were Sat., Aug. 28 at the Grace Free Lutheran Church of Edinburg, ND. Interment was at the Odalen Lutheran Cemetery, rural Edinburg.
