Heartland Community Foundation Accepting Applications for Grants

The Heartland Community Foundation, which encompasses Rooks, Trego and Ellis Counties, is pleased to announce that grants are available to help non-profit organizations with project and program needs for 2010.

There will be three (3) grant awards of $300 each.

Grants must be received by March 12, 2010. Detailed information and the grant application can be found at the foundation's web site: www.heartlandcommunity-foundation.org or applications may be obtained by calling the Foundation Office.

The Heartland Community Foundation, which serves Trego, Rooks and Ellis Counties has received a matching half-million dollar, health-related grant from the Kansas Health Foundation in Wichita.. For every dollar the Heartland Community Foundation raises for health-related programs and projects for communities in these counties, the Kansas Health Foundation will provide a half dollar.

HCF can now partner with other funders, such as local donors, in support of public health programs, and other project that will enhance the livability in each respective community.

HCF was founded in 2007 and is a public charity with a collection of funds designed to link donors with their favorite charitable causes and the HCF is an affiliate of the Greater Salina Community Foundation. Susan Day of WaKeeney is a Heartland Community Foundation board member.
