None of the incumbents on the West Lyon School Board decided to seek reelection this year. Elected to their posts were Bryan Paulson, District 1; Kyle Knobloch, District 2, and Scott Lee, District 5.

Lyon County voters approved the continuation of Northwest Iowa Community College's 6-cent equipment levy for another 10 years. The levy funds the purchase of instructional equipment and enhances programming opportunities for students.

This tax is assessed at 6 cents per $1,000 of taxable property valuation in the four-and-one-half counties (Cherokee, Lyon, O'Brien, Osceola and Sioux) served by the college.

Eighty-two percent of the voters (398) favored the levy while 90 ballots were cast against the levy.

Overall, the measure was approved 2,758-885.
