This year The Covey Run, held in Woodinville and sponsored by Covey Run Winery, brought 1,400 local runners and philanthropists together to help raise funds for Seattle Children's Hospital. Participants had the option of the 10K race, 5K Run/Walk, or even a Kids Dash. The race raised an overwhelming $115,000. This exceeds the $100,000 raised in 2008, and the $75,000 raised in 2007. Kate Michaud, Covey Run winemaker, had this to say: "We are thrilled that The Covey Run continues to be such a great success. Each year we raise more funds and have a larger turnout than the previous year, which means more aid for the families and hospital facilities of Seattle Children's Hospital. Philanthropy is so important to us at Covey Run and we are thrilled that our local consumers share our enthusiasm."
