Effective immediately, Banner Lassen Medical Center will implement visitor restrictions to protect our patients and employees during the influenza season. The visitor restrictions are as follows:

Do not visit the hospital if you are exhibiting signs of possible flu (runny nose, cough, fever, etc).

Children ages 12 and under (who are not seeking health care services) will not be permitted beyond the hospital lobby and must be attended by an adult at all times. (Exceptions may be made only on a case by case basis only after the child has been provided with a mask, gloves and observes strict droplet precautions during the visit).

Our goal is to protect the health and safety of our patients, many of whom are already vulnerable and susceptible to more serious illness. During the flu season, we are not allowing children under the age of 12 into any patient care area out of concern for patients. Research indicates that children are the main carriers and transmitters of the flu.

Patients who schedule outpatient appointments will be encouraged to come to appointments without their children.

All visitors are encouraged to wash their hands often; before entering a patient's room and upon leaving.

Sinks and waterless hand sanitizer are available throughout the hospital.
