Phil Riggs loses life in 2-car crash

The 13th traffic fatality in Sioux City was recorded Tuesday evening, August 25 when Phil Riggs, an 84-year-old retired farmer, died of a crushed chest.

The car that he was driving collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Highway 75 and 41st Street.

Survivors include a son, John, of College Station, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Paul A. Caldwell Jr., of Washington D.C.; a sister, Mrs. Oscar Caulum of Sioux City; three grandsons; and two granddaughters.

The son, John JĀ£. Riggs from Texas, is the son-in-law of Henry Wood of Moville.
