Power Climbers sending 15 to state

Fifteen Shelton High School powerlifters have qualified for this Saturday's state championships at Columbia High School in White Salmon.

The powerful Highclimbers qualified during the Shelton Invitational meet on April 16.

The boys, who took second at the home invititation-al and won the Lincoln Invitational (at Lincoln High School in Tacoma), have 11 lifters.

Aaron Roaf finished second in the 165-pound class with a total weight lifted of 895 pounds - 295 in squat, 195 in bench and 405 in deadlift.

David Mullins and Robert Crawford are both in the 114-pound division after taking second and third at the

Shelton Invite respectively.

Other qualifiers for the boys team are Tyler Love (123), Jayden Micas (123), Arturo Martinez (132), Edgar Osoria (132), Steven Guijosa (148), Roger Villesca (198), Alex Dominguez (220) and Brandon Blueback (unlimited weight class).

The Shelton girls team will send four lifters to the state championships - Eva Zacarias (123), Lindley Taylor (123), Kaela Hembry (181) and Jennifer Twidwell (unlimited).

Zacarias took second in the 123-pound class with a squat of 200 pounds, bench of 100 pounds and deadlift of 235 pounds.
