Chris Countryman is elected Chamber head

The Moville Chamber of Commerce elected new officers at its meeting Tuesday.

Chris Countryman of EGR Insurance, has been elected president of the organization. He replaces Larry DeBuse who is moving from the community. Pam Clark, marketing manager at Western Iowa Telephone, has been elected vice-president, replacing Blake Stubbs who resigned. Jodi Peterson, an assistant Moville city clerk, has been elected to the vacant position of secretary. Jeannie Kruger has been reelected treasurer.

The organization meets monthly for luncheon programs and sponsors various community activities during the year, including the upcoming Halloween Parade through the business district.

The chamber was told about a plan by the Moville Garden Club to renovate the Memorial Park shelter house before the 2012 celebration of Moville@125. The club is seeking help in providing a new handicapped accessible rest room and making the entire building accessible, along with work to the windows of the shelter house.
