Monday, workmen from Cynthiana began rebuilding the Pecks Pike bridge, which washed out in May. The project will be completed and the road will be open to traffic in about two weeks, said Ron Jenkins of Ron's Concrete.

Next up is bridge replacement on Hendrix Road. It's all part of Judge Executive Ronnie Lyons' plan to prepare the county roads for winter.

Lyons has acted as his own road foreman since he took over as the county's chief executive officer. Other road work includes a bridge on Satterfield Lane and improvements to Stepstone Road and Naylor Road, in addition to pothole repair and brush cutting.
