Planting of spring wheat and durum wheat is catching up to the long-term average in North Dakota.

The Agriculture Department says in its weekly crop and weather report that seeding of durum wheat is 69 percent done, compared to the average of 76 percent, and spring wheat planting is 87 percent complete, just under the average of 88 percent.

Barley planting is now slightly ahead of average, at 90 percent.

North Dakota ranchers continue moving cattle to pasture. The majority of pasture and range land is listed in good to excellent condition.
