Egg Baby teaches students responsibility

By Moville Record staff

Moville Record of Moville, Iowa

This year Mrs. Graham and her 8th grade exploratory are doing something a little different. Each student was responsible for an "Egg Baby."

The reason for this assignment is so that the 8th graders can learn responsibility, and understand how hard it is to take care of something other themselves.

Instead of using a hard boiled egg, the students used blown ones.

Different classrooms had play pens in the rooms but when the eggs aren't allowed in the regular classroom, the student parent has the option to take their "baby" to the Home Ec room for "Egg Day Care."

During the first day, 7 of the 12 kids broke their eggs. This project is a warm up for projects in which the students participate in high school.
