The Times-Argus of Central City, Kentucky
Clarence Fonzo Cox, 103, died at 2:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26 in Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born Oct. 28, 1905 in Belton, he was a retired coal miner and worked in the housekeeping department at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. He was a member and deacon of Penrod Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela Irene Cox; and parents, Alonzo Young and Timmie Jane Cox.
Survivors include three daughters, Elwanda Forsythe of Penrod, Cheryl Flewallen of Russellville and Nelda Byrum of Greenville; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren and four step-great-greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Penrod Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randall Forsythe, Rev. William Cook and Rev. Steve Rutherford officiating. Burial was in Penrod Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Price Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
