Turtle Mountain Star of Rolla, North Dakota
Roland Marmon, son of Bob and Pat Marmon of Williston ND received his Ph.D. in American Indian Studies from the University of Arizona, in December 2009. His dissertation titled, Last Card Played, is a history of the Turtle Mountain Chippewa and the Ten Cent Treaty of 1892. Roland hopes to turn Last Card Played into a documentary and has earned him the prestigious Marshall Dissertation Fellowship. Roland currently lives and works in Tucson, Arizona with his family.
