The Wahkiakum Community Foundation (WCF) has moved its main office from the Scarborough Building to the Julia Butler Hansen Heritage Center on Main Street in Cathlamet.

Following a vote by the WCF board of trustees in July, the board and foundation director Sarah Lawrence agreed to move the head office in an effort to reduce overhead costs.

"Moving the WCF head office to the Julia Butler Hansen Heritage Center makes perfect sense, as it creates an opportunity to showcase one of the key attractions the foundation has established within Wahkiakum County," said Lawrence.

A registered non-profit, the Wahkiakum Community Foundation was founded in 2003 to encourage philanthropy among the people of Wahkiakum County and the Lower Columbia region.
