On Saturday the Burnet High School cross country team, or aptly named for this meet the Mud Dawgs, competed at the Llano Invitational on the same grounds where the district race will be held on Oct. 28.
"This was a great chance for us to find out how we will attack the course at the district race. Plus, all of our district competitors were there, which gave us another chance to get a better idea of their personnel and how they race," said coach Stuart Dixon. "So far it is looking like it will be a very fast and competitive district race."
The varsity boys took seventh out of 14 teams in their 5K-race. The girls finished 12 out of 14 in the two-mile.
