This senior goalie matched head up with the state's top offensive players in the DIAA semifinal with Sallies and stopped 14 potential goals during the contest. A three-year starter for the Vikings, Cook has never lost a Henlopen Conference game and has made it to the state semis twice. "James is a great -goalie," says Cape head coach_ JacWngO: "He played his heart
out for us and came up big in a lot of games." After playing in the Mi-Star game Saturday, June 11, he will travel south in the fall and protect the cage for the Lynchburg Hornets.
PARIS WHITE
The left-handed streak shoooter and rugged rebounder fronm the boys' basketball team wass one of few players to score maore than 30 points in a game; and pull down double-digit rebounds. On May 20 anid 21, he joined another select group by winning the long jump, triple jump and high jump for Division One athletes at the DIAA track championships. On May 25, Paris won the high jump at the Meet of Champions with a leap of 6-feet-4-inches and backed that up with a third place in the triple jump, sailing 45-2. Delaware State is currently looking at Paris as a track; athlete.
KADIJAH DOUGHTY
This super sophomore was a rebounding machine for the girls' basketball team last season as the team reached the state finals for the first time in 38 years. On May 20 and 21, the girl friends call Dedah scored 26 points in the state championship meet as the Vikings won the state title 91-85 over Christiana. Doughty won the shot put and was second in the discus, third in the long jump and led off the 4-by-100-meter relay team that placed second.
HANNAH PEPPER
Amazingly enough, she scored 26 points in the state track championships with a first place in the 300 hurdles and second in the high jump - two brand-new events for her - along with a third in the triple jump and second in the 4-by-400-meter relay. It may well be field hockey that dominates Hannah's athletic future as she heads to the University of Delaware to join her sister Rebecca on the Blue Hens field hockey team. Pepper was a mainstay at midfield for the Vikings, who were undefeated before losing in the state semifinals.
